need for approval

Sometimes I wish that I didn't share my blog so publicly. Like, that only a few people knew about it.

Because sometimes something happens, and I want to blog about it...
But I don't want to tarnish my reputation.

How's that for stimulating your curiosity?

Yeah, we're curious. Well, I am. What's up? Did you drink more diet coke?

Blogging is an interesting communication medium because the writer completely controls what everyone else knows and can manipulate how others see them. When interactions occur in person, people have all five senses to help them figure out what's going on but here, that isn't the case. If this conversation were occuring in person we would be able to tell if you were embarressed or angry with yourself or angry with someone else or pleased, etc. Now, with the blog, all we know is that something happened and you don't want to share the experience, mainly because you don't want it to shatter some image you think people have of you.

OK, rambling now, not enough sleep. But I do think that what makes us human is that we are not perfect. But, you do have a right to keep things to yourself.

    Cat on keyboard...

Can you tell us about it not on your blog?

Or are we the people whose opinions you have in mind?
