one, two, three

usually new shoes come in pairs. but today i got three. two in the mail and one from the doctor.

it's been interesting to see what parts of my routine remain and what parts have changed since i've been in bed for the past four days. well, pretty much everything has changed. i still eat and sleep and practice some degree of hygiene. but those three things look quite different than normal. so, that said, i think Picture of the Day is my only bit of normalcy. i'm not even journaling.

before i had this surgery i was very excited about all the time i'd have to do things. like writing letters and stories and emails and knitting and reading and watching movies and visiting with people and getting enough sleep. how is it that my time has been completed occupied - and yet i've barely done any of these things? i think healing itself takes a lot of time.

sorry, it doesn't look like i have anything witty or entertaining tonight. maybe tomorrow.

Your body will need the most rest right away, and as you start to recover you'll have the energy for all those other things. Plus, you're on drugs! And I agree about the routines - do your intense recovery, and then develope your routines.
