Can molasses go bad? I just noticed that it said "Refrigerate after opening" on the jar. And I've never done that. And I opened up the molasses and it smelled a little... I don't know... fermented. I threw it away. I don't like food that's gone bad.

I keep it in the cupboard unrefrigerated and haven't experienced it going bad yet. But if it smells fermented, I'd avoid it.
